Consideration - Domain Name Change

So I'm thinking about the fact that folks generally can't remember how to spell "Paraesthesia."  I like the name, I've had it for a while, but I think there's a memory barrier there.  I own "travisillig.com" (which currently redirects you to my site).

What do folks out there think about the idea of making "travisillig.com" my primary domain and having Paraesthesia redirect?  Would it be easier?  Do you care?  It would be no trivial amount of work and I'd lose a bit in the way of Google results/ranking for a while, so I want to be sure if I start thinking about doing that.  (I would definitely make sure any existing links out there would continue to work.)

What do you all think?

Stick with Paraesthesia. That's who you are. People can always use travisillig.com if needed.

The only reason to change is for SEO benefits. Look at your analytics stats and see how many people are actually finding your by bookmark or directly typing into the location bar.

Those people are the only ones you would be helping w/ this and I highly doubt that is a significant percentage.

That's actually the most reasonable argument I've heard yet.

As it stands, travisillig.com already redirects; the change would be solely for the folks who just can't remember. (I, personally, don't have trouble, but then it's my domain.)

I've actually been under this domain for several years now and am leaning away from switching, but when I go to conferences and such and people want to know what my site is, it's hard to tell them. So it'd partially be for convenience there. That said, I suppose I could just tell them "travisillig.com" and let them get redirected, too.

Maybe I just need little personal business cards.

Good idea to check the stats - I'll check it out.
